South Streets

This capsule is inspired by the concrete hustle of the South African streets. We have unique characters called car guards. These people work the streets hard, trying to create an opportunity to become a driving force of their own income.

They each have their designated territory which become theirs over time. A simple thing like having a construction vest makes them feel right at work. Just this piece of clothing allows them to be seen by us that way as well. I always came across the same people standing on the same corners for many years, coming to work on time and leaving on time, turning what we would call ‘just a hustle’ into an actual job. This fascinated me and I could always relate to their hustle as if it were my own.

This line is to pay homage to all those people grinding hard to create their own hustle and sticking it.
